Office of Admissions

Leaders for Christ's church at work in the world

Greetings from the Admissions Office!

We are pleased to announce that The Rev. Seth Bridger, a 2006 Trinity graduate, has joined Trinity’s Advancement Team as the new Director of Admissions. Seth previously served as co-pastor along with his wife, Shelley Nelson-Bridger, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Cincinnati. Prior to their call to Gloria Dei in 2011, Seth served for five years as a pastor developer in Pooler, Georgia, just outside of Savannah. He began his new role in the Office of Admissions on March 2 and looks forward to connecting with people in the office and on the road.

“I am thrilled be a part of the team at Trinity,” said Seth. “Not only do I believe in the seminary’s vision, I believe that God has equipped me in some unique ways and has prepared me to serve in this leadership role.”

Please join us in welcoming the Bridgers back to Trinity!

The Admissions Team

  • Prepared for ministry? Well, there is always room for more learning. There are always surprises. However, ask me if Trinity has prepared me for a life of faithful service? For ministry rooted in relationship and God’s love? Then, yes! After study at Trinity, I am prepared to passionately share my faith and love in a world constantly in need of resurrection. I am prepared to encounter the unexpected, the surprises, and the challenges.

A native of Wooster, Ohio, Seth was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in the heart of downtown Wooster. Much of his early faith formation took place at Camp Mowana in Mansfield, where he was a camper and served on the camp staff. He earned his undergraduate degree in history in 1997 from Wittenberg University, where he met Shelley. They were married in 2000 and have two sons, Noah, age 9, and Zachary, age 5.

Early in their marriage, Seth and Shelley traveled the Western United States for nearly a year, working seasonally in Death Valley, California, and Grand Canyon, Arizona, while volunteering with the A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP) program. Seth has led worship and lived in Grand Teton National Park and led an outdoor adventure summer program at Camp Lutherwood in Bellingham, Washington.

Seth enjoys morning coffee with hazelnut creamer, ideally outside; kayaking any lake, river, or creek; traveling to new places; playing baseball with his boys; worshiping God with others; and being a Child of God!

Sharon Shannon

Admissions Hospitality Coordinator

shannon admissionsAs Hospitality Coordinator, Sharon enjoys making sure each guest feels welcomed and well cared for. She feels that is easy at the seminary, where community is at the center. Sharon has recently completed her studies in the MTS program at Trinity. She attributes her experience to her understanding of how important it is for a prospective student to sit in on a class, meet with a faculty member and share lunch with a current student. When not at the seminary, Sharon enjoys the activities Columbus offers, like a day at Franklin Park Conservatory or roaming the nooks and crannies of the Book Loft. Sharon loves cooking for her family and spending time in her garden and sewing room.
