Congratulations to the Class of 2013!
Twenty-seven students from Trinity Lutheran Seminary and seven students from Bexley Seabury Seminary received degrees during commencement on May 18, 2013. Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton, of the Northeastern Ohio Synod of the ELCA, addressed the graduating classes in Mees Auditorium on the campus of Capital University. Bishop Eaton was first elected to the office of bishop during a special election in 2006. She was re-elected during the Northeastern Ohio Synod Assembly on May 31. A native of Cleveland and a graduate of Harvard Divinity School, Bishop Eaton previously served congregations in Ashtabula, Worthington, and Youngstown, Ohio. Prior to commencement, a service of Holy Communion was held at 10 a.m. in the Gloria Dei Worship Center at Trinity. The Rev. Dr. Elise Feyerherm, assistant professor of Church History and Christian Spirituality for Bexley Hall, was the preacher. You can read her sermon here
