'God is with us,' Immanuel, creates the church and makes it new everyday. This phrase is a banner we hold high, a life we live, a promise toward which we hope, but all in all, a name, a person, Jesus Christ. This person addresses his church and its members each day: '"Go!" disciples, make disciples, and "Lo!" I am with you.' And 'God is with us' becomes so! --Ray A. Olson |
